Agile Delivery Adoption

Today, agile software delivery is mainstream, everyone is doing it, or are they? In our experience, many organisations are missing the point of agile and as a result, are failing to reap the true benefits. Instead of embracing agile as a concept throughout their delivery approach, many organisations are simply following a set of prescriptive practices without really understanding why, or how they should evolve their agile approach. Silvertouch Technology consultants are PSM 1 certified scrum masters, and have extensive experience in agile concepts, foundational agile engineering principles and product management. We will work with your origanisation to baseline your current position, assess your unique circumstances, and define a roadmap for improvement.

Let Silvertouch Technology guide you along the path of successfully adopting or improving your agile delivery capability.

We work in sprints, we must be agile?

In today’s agile world, there is a pressure on organisations to state they are agile as it is has now become the expected norm. This has lead in some organisations to adopting an agile spray can mentality, where organisations are trying to be agile, perhaps for the wrong reasons and want to just spray their department with a bit of agile, so they can wear the agile badge. There is a common misconception that a software delivery function is agile just because it follows some Scrum practices, or just because it delivers software via a set of sprints. Whilst such practices are common in agile deliveries, they do not in themselves make a delivery function agile, agile is much more than that.

It’s about business value, risk management, and continuous improvement

Agile is about putting three core principles at the heart of what we do, business value, risk management and continuous improvement. In doing so, agile touches much more than just the delivery team function, it touches the way the business gathers requirements, the way requirements are prioritised, the way we measure business value, the way we approach software architecture and so forth. So, it is less about the delivery team, and more about the project or programme as a whole.

Practices, Principles and roadmaps

Silvertouch technology’s consultants have extensive experience in a wide variety of agile practices and principles, covering all aspects of delivery; programme management, product management, software development, testing, release management and so forth.

We will assess and baseline your current agile position in each area, whilst taking the time to understand the team, organisational and wider cultural considerations specific to your organisation. Within this assessment we consider team setup and interaction, agile practices applied and the toolsets utilised.

We will make a set of actionable recommendations and present this within an incremental roadmap for adoption, to ensure change can be added incrementally and value assessed along the journey.
